I moved my young family to Fort McMurray in 1993 for the opportunity of owning and operating a small business, Campbell’s Music. As the community began its rapid growth, I became more involved in community initiatives, serving as the President of the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce for 2 terms, Treasurer of Wood Buffalo Housing. My children have since grown up and are off to University, allowing me more time to give back to the community that has benefitted my family greatly.

I graduated from Composite High, attended Keyano College and completed my Bachelor of Administration degree there through Athabasca University. I have worked in many positions, from service to professional, but the bulk of my career was at Syncrude in such areas as Public Affairs, Materials & Services, and, finally, Recruiting.

Why are you running in Election 2010?
For over 30 years I’ve worked with family, business, industry, faith
communities, governments, and social agencies to enhance the quality of life in our region. I have the vision and experience to strengthen council and deliver on key issues. I have a proven track record of working with multi-stakeholder groups to achieve results for priorities shared throughout our region, including land development. I bring a broad range of experience and skills in business, planning, contracts and facilitation, to council
chambers. Now that I’m semi-retired, I will devote my prime time to being a full time councilor. Continue reading
